I have always been a candle lover. From the aromatherapy effects to the nice added touch they bring to any room decor, candles are a staple in my home. Moreover, they create a relaxing and calming atmosphere, which really helps me de-stress after a long day at work. I especially love soy candles, which burn cleaner and last longer than your typical candle. I purchase a majority of my candles from Marshall’s or TJ Maxx. They usually have a ton to choose from and at great prices!
The one thing I don’t like is when my candle is at the end of its life, and I am left with a really cute durable holder that I don’t want to throw out. So, I started to think of ways to reuse the holders. I’ve found they make great plant containers, home decor, and believe it or not, storage!
Before you can put your ideas to good use, first, you have to clean out the holder. The best way to do that is by putting it in the freezer for a few hours. Next, take a butter knife or something similar to loosen up the wax and it will come right out. Finally, I wash and rinse the holder to release any other debris.
Now onto my repurposing ideas which are as follows:
Repurpose Idea #1 – Planter Container: I like to have fresh herbs around such as basil, thyme and rosemary, and I am always looking for a container to plant them in. A candle holder works perfectly. Of course, you can use the holder for any plant or flower you would like. Below is a video of me planting some basil.
Repurpose Idea #2 – Home Decor: I picked up a few holiday decorations at Michael’s and made this nice little holiday arrangement. The container works great to use as a decoration in your own home or also for a gift.
Repurpose Idea #3 – Storage: I always am looking for something to help me better organize my home essentials, especially toiletries. This holder is great for storing anything from cotton balls to paperclips or even pencils.
