Are you bored with your workouts or feel like you’re in an exercise rut? I certainly feel that way on occasion, which motivates me to try something new. This year, I have decided to get into resistance band training and have been using booty bands. These bands come in a variety of colors and materials such as cloth, elastic and rubber and are thicker than your typical resistance bands. They are made to target the glutes, hips, quads and hamstrings.

When I started using booty bands, I noticed it made my usual workout extra challenging, which my body certainly needs from time to time. Once your muscles get used to the same old workouts, that’s when it’s time to up your game! Below are some benefits that I discovered by incorporating these bands into my workout:

Extra challenge

The typical squat, lunge and leg lift exercises can be a challenge to begin with, but once you’ve mastered those techniques and then use the booty band, your workout changes drastically. After using the band, the next day I felt a “good” soreness, which was obvious that I gave those muscles an extra challenge and an overall more meaningful workout.

Easy to use

Booty bands are definitely not rocket science! They are super easy to use, and you can adjust them accordingly to fit your workout. For example, for squats, you can wear it around your legs right above the knees. If you are doing leg lifts, you can move it down below your knees to add more resistance and work your legs. See the video below from POPSUGAR Fitness on different ways to use the bands.

As far as workout equipment goes, you can’t get much cheaper than a few dollars. I think I spent a whole $9.99 on my set of five, which definitely didn’t break the bank! There really is no excuse not to try these out for that price.

Different levels

You can get anywhere from one booty band to up to five booty bands in a set. Each band is a different resistance ranging from extra light to extra heavy. This gives you permission to build up your workouts, and if you aren’t to the point of using the extra heavy just yet, that is ok, since you have options.

Ease of portability

Booty bands are super light and pack up nicely. Some even come with their own bag, so you can keep them together and travel easily with them. So, there is no excuse that you couldn’t do your workout because you couldn’t bring your heavy weights with you!
