There’s nothing quite like a creamy and delicious milkshake to beat the summer heat. Once I started making homemade vanilla ice cream, I knew I had to try it in a milkshake recipe. My go-to is a simple vanilla milkshake that is smooth, luxurious, and anything but boring.
Homemade ice cream definitely takes this milkshake to the next level, but if you can’t make it at home, a good-quality store bought ice cream will work just fine. Amp up the vanilla flavor by adding some vanilla extract. Last but not least, add some sugar for some extra sweetness.
Ingredients
4 cups of vanilla ice cream – homemade or good-quality store bought (if it’s homemade ice cream, refer to this post)
2 cups of milk
8 tablespoons of sugar – this is the amount of sugar the recipe calls for, but feel free to add more or less according to taste
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
Directions
Put all of the ingredients into a blender and blend on high until you get a creamy and a smooth consistency. Top it with whipped cream or your topping of choice. Enjoy!
