We all know it’s hard enough some days to get motivated to workout, but when the seasons change and it starts to get colder and darker earlier, it’s even harder to find the motivation to workout. If you’re finding the weather and time change a struggle, here are a few tips that might help you to get up and get moving.

Make a Fitness Plan – Try to make a plan with achievable goals and make this your motivation. Setting realistic goals each week will help you stay on track and will most likely help you reach those goals.

Workout with Someone – Having a workout buddy definitely helps get you motivated and you’ll be more inclined to show up if someone is depending on you. Workout with a friend, work colleague, spouse, etc. It might also be fun to join a group workout class.

Try Something New – Is the same old workout routine making you bored? Now is the time to try something new, whether it’s a new fitness class or a new exercise machine. Incorporating something new and changing up your fitness routine will definitely help you find motivation.

Make It a Competition – It’s always more fun and exciting to do a workout competition among your friends or colleagues. This will give you an extra push to motivate yourself to beat your competition. Nowadays, there are many fitness apps where you can compete against your friends and family. Furthermore, many workplaces offer fitness challenges as well.

Adjust with the Time Change – Perhaps you used to workout in the evening, but now it’s harder because it’s dark much earlier. Try adjusting your workout to the morning or afternoon or find a time when you’re feeling the most motivated. The key is finding a time that feels right for you!
