Have you ever asked yourself the question of which is more important, diet or exercise? It turns out that diet is far more important than exercise when it comes to losing weight. You have probably heard of the age-old saying “You are what you eat,” and this is a perfect example of that. This doesn’t mean you should quit exercising, it just means that overall eating the right foods has more of a direct impact toward weight loss.
So why is diet more important? When you exercise you burn calories, which increases your appetite, which in turn can ruin the best of intentions. Furthermore, what you eliminate from your diet is more important than exercise because you are consuming more calories from the food and beverages you are eating and only a small portion of calories are lost through exercise. Of course, exercise is still important for keeping fit, building strength, and managing diseases, so make sure you are still incorporating fitness into your daily routine.
Below is a sample diet and exercise plan if you are not sure where to start.
