Are you looking to get back into shape after having a baby? You might think there is no time to fit in a workout when you are preoccupied most of the day with your little one, however there are a variety of workouts that promote a wonderful bonding experience and also let you take some time for yourself. Here are a few workouts to try with your little one.

Walking/Jogging with the stroller – Take some time to get outside with your baby and enjoy the outdoors. Walking or jogging with the stroller is a great workout and it gets your baby outside for some fresh air.

Hiking – Another fun outside activity to do with your baby is hiking. Before embarking on your hiking adventure make sure to consider the elements and the difficulty level of the hike. Also, keep your hike to about 20-30 minutes as your baby will probably not last more than that without fussing. Use a front carrier for babies from 1-6 months old and a back carrier for a more developed baby between the ages of 6-14 months.

Pilates and Yoga – Check out some pilates/yoga classes for mom and baby. It’s a good idea to wait until your baby is at least 3 months old so they can lift their head. At these classes you will help your baby do simple stretches and play with props that will help stimulate their mind. Classes are also a nice way to meet other moms.

Water Classes – Another class to look into is a mom and baby water class. There are many simple exercises you can do with your baby in the water such as lifting your baby up and down and holding them on their tummies.
